I came up with “Positive Paint” for a couple reasons, one being because of the mediums I choose to work with. The majority of my work is environment friendly…I make my own paint which is derived from fruit and vegetables, it’s a process and tricky to work with but the outcome is well worth it. My homemade paint has a great natural look and texture that would match with any decor. I also use acrylics, I prefer to paint on wood instead of canvas because I use a dry brush technique and the wood handles paint better. I really like the abstract form of the wood and detail in the grain itself. The wood I get is only from trees that are down due to storm damage.
The second reason “Positive Paint” was started is because of the concept of positive thinking. I turned my life around a full 360 degrees, it was alot of self help, determination, and hope but the main thing that needed work was my mindset. Art was always a emotional outlet for me and one of the things that helped me find myself. I do not make prints so every piece I create is one of a kind, its a part of me and who I am.
